It was a quiet night in a small village.
The moonlight spilled gently over the street.
An old lady was bent over, searching for something on the ground.
Her hands swept through the dust. Her eyes… fixed on the earth.
A curious man passed by and asked,
[Soft, curious tone]
“O great lady, what are you searching for?”
Without looking up, she replied,
“I have lost my needle… inside my house.”
The man blinked in surprise.
“Inside your house? Then… why are you searching for it here?”
The old lady straightened her back and said,
“Because… it’s dark inside.
And here, in the moonlight… I can see better.”
(Pause. Let the audience process the absurdity.)
Friends… isn’t that what we do in life?
We lose something inside… but go searching for it outside.
We search for happiness in objects.
In possessions.
In praise.
In the approval of others.
But just like the old lady’s needle… the true treasure is inside.
It lies in our own mind, in our own heart… but we avoid the darkness there.
We avoid the stillness. We avoid facing ourselves.
So we keep looking in the wrong place… because it feels easier.
dear friends,
If you want to find the object of your quest…
Look within. Turn inward. Control the mind.
For in that stillness… you will discover that the happiness you were chasing all along…
was quietly waiting… inside you.
